Veripet Rescue Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals and to increase the caring / well-being of all pets of pets by issuing them an digital rabies certificate and through financial incentives, donations, increased and certified rabies vaccinations along with microchipping..
We accomplish our goals by dedicating all resources to these endeavors which become manifested via donating a portion of every sale to rescue shelters; eliminating resource costly vaccination check calls for vets, service providers and owners; motivating pet owners to vaccinate their pet by making it easy and attractive for them to show proof of vaccination when required; enabling service providers, rescues, and government agencies like animal control and municipalities to easily know the vaccination status of a pet; and by incentivizing veterinary professionals to provide accurate and up to date vaccination data which we securely store for retrieval when needed.
To issue a Pawmit rabies certificate, Veripet verifies a pet's rabies vaccination with their veterinarian and records it in our secure database. The certification can be accessed 24x7x365 via microchip lookup at our website or using a microchip scanner connected to our mobile Rabies Reader® app. Once the information is located it is prominently displayed on the scanner, computer or mobile device.
A prominent feature of Veripet's web and mobile applications is the ability of a person who finds a pet to easily lookup up the pet microchip number and automaticly notify the owner via SMS text and email that their loved pet has been found. Veripet does this in a secure manner respecting the privacy of both the owner and finder. At the same time the finder can check if the pet has a valid rabies certificate and the status of their rabies vaccination; this is a very useful and important tool for Animal Control agents in that it informs them whether or not the pet has been vaccinated against rabies and more importantly if that vaccination still meets requirements.
A direct result of Veripet's services results in more pets being microchipped and vaccinated due to the benefits provided an owner and financial incentives provided to shelters, rescues and animal control organizations. The veterinarian's "at service time" data entry eliminates an extra, non-monitored step for tag registration reducing potential errors and ensuring registration is performed which many times is not done for reasons of cost, desire, or forgetfulness.
By having your pet and their vaccination data registered at the Veripet site a needful individual can easily check its vaccination status. This simple check will improve the health of your pet by eliminating over vaccination and avoid having your pet vaccinated "just in case" which can cause an adverse medical event for your pet.
Veripet maintains an account called a Donation Pot into which a significant portion of our gross sales are put. We distribute donations to participating rescue organizations based upon a percentage of their pets utilizing our site. A rescue's or shelter's medical staff that utilizes our site to help pets by maintaining their vaccination data on-line will also be eligible for percentage of the donations in addition to receiving Veripet's medical record certification donations.
Veripet's donation payout rate is 100%. When we say we donate a dollar, we donate a dollar. We absorb all administration and other costs to provide this helping hand to our needful organizations. Many charitable organizations donate from nothing to $0.05 on the dollar to their causes while paying their corporate staff millions of dollars and even giving them a Rolls Royce as a perk.
Donation recipients may utilize our donations for anything related to caring of pets. However, we suggest financial funds be applied to maintaining a fulfilling life style for those pets that have difficulty being adopted such as red flag dogs whom must be placed in forever homes of those specially trained to handle a more aggressive pet. For obvious reasons this makes the adoption process take much longer, if at all possible, requiring the caring organization to expend more resources on these needy individuals than that of others.
Veripet is also committed to keeping pets safe by helping properly identify them. To enable our goal Veripet promotes the use of implanted microchips as an aid in positively identifying the pet. One of the main uses of our donations is to purchase microchips and scanners (when funds and prices allow) and donate them to rescue and no-kill shelter organizations. Veripet steps in with free chips and/or a scanner when an organization, who may be financially strapped, and cannot afford to chip a rescued pet.
An organization can opt out of accepting donations for any reason whereby their portion of donations will be distributed to those organizations that are participating at each disbursement period.
Veripet only permits no kill shelters to participate in their Donation Pot program.
